Welcome! You've arrived at the social site for the Shire of Granite Mountain, a group within the Kingdom of Atenveldt in the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism). We are a historical re-creation group located in Prescott , Arizona. We also cover the area of Chino Valley, Prescott Valley, Dewey, Humboldt, and portions of the Verde Valley. We are a not-for-profit educational organization that studies western European history by recreating the "best" pastimes and crafts of the Middle Ages.

Most importantly, the SCA is not the same thing as a Renaissance Faire, because it is participatory. There is no audience. Every person plays a part in creating the atmosphere. We hold weekly meetings (sometimes called "Fighter Practices"), and "events" (get-togethers where costumes are required) nearly every weekend. Some feature armored combat tournaments and feasts, some are orchestrated around Medieval pomp and circumstance (audiences or "Courts" conducted by Royalty), while others focus on learning more about particular crafts ("Arts & Sciences").

Fighter Practice (Hardsuit & Rapier): Wednesday evening practices at Fain Park in Prescott Valley are back on! 6pm until dark or whenever we get tired enough to quit for the night!

Rapier Fighter Practices are also on Sundays at approx. 2pm at Fain Park in Prescott Valley or at Community Center Park in Chino Valley (concurrent with Archery practice). Hardsuit Fighters are always welcome to join us there at that time and practice their craft.

The Shire Officers meet on the first Wednesday of each month concurrent with the Fighter Practice at Fain Park in Prescott Valley at 7pm; these meetings are open to all of the Populace and newcomers; they are not just for the officers; if you haven't attended before, please feel free to come to one in the future and discuss your ideas, suggestions, concerns, etc. with the officers.

(Non-alcoholic) beverages are normally available, and from time-to-time snacks.
